What is Hyper-Pigmentation?
Pigmentation (melanin) is what gives our skin its colour and it is also our biological sun protector.
Hyper-pigmentation of the skin is caused by the abnormal production of melanin. The melanin is produced in the cells called melanocyes, for many reasons some melanocytes overproduce melanin, therefore causing irregular discolouration and dark spots.
